Pottery Class for Adults & Children

Children class:
Sun: 10:00am ~ 11:30pm
Thur: 4:30pm ~ 6:00pm
Tuition: $100(4 weeks) / $180(8 weeks) / *$20 Clay & Firing Fee

Adults class:
Sun: 12:00am ~ 2:30pm
Thur: 6:30pm ~ 9:00pm
Tuition: $150(4 weeks) / $280(8 weeks) / *$30 Clay & Firing Fee

Beginning Pottery [fundamental]
This is an introductory class for students that have no experience. In this class, students will learn the basic and intermediate skills they will need to create their own Pottery. Students will learn centering, trimming, and wedging. They will also learn to make cups, mugs, bowls, and handles. After you have created your artwork, you can add color to bring it to life with glazes and other decorations. You will be exposed to other studio techniques and hand building skills that will also be taught. Typically, students take this class more than once before they are comfortable moving on to the next level.

Intermediate / Advanced Pottery
This class is for those who have mastered wheel-throwing basic skills such as centering, pulling, and trimming. We've designed a course that takes you to the next level. This class provides demonstrations and instructions on more complex forms and multiple parts vessels couples with constructive evaluation of your work.

The instructors will demonstrate and assign class projects, such as bowls, covered jars, pitchers, or vases; advanced students will be encouraged to work independently. Students will be encouraged to mix glazes tests and incorporate the results into their pottery.

Children's Ceramic Classes
All courses are for students who want to experience the enjoyment of hand building with clay. All levels of experience are welcome. Small class size and Individual attention enable children to explore the clay process from start to finish. Materials and firings are included In the class fee. To register for the fail session, complete the font on the back and return it to Ms. Julia Im at the studio. We look forward to seeing you.

Age 5-7 "Creature Critters": Lean what clay can do. Use the pinch and coil techniques your favorite pets, sea creatures, monsters, and more.

Age 8-12 "Places and Spaces": Let your imagination take you places. Use clay to create real arid imaginary places and environments. References will be made to fairy tales, science, and history.

Age 13-18 "People and Clay": Use simple clay construction techniques to make clay self-portraits, group scenes, and characters from favorite books, movies, or video games.

8 week Children's Pottery Program
This program is designed to expose children to an actual pottery studio where they use the wheel and other pottery making methods. Several creative and fun projects are taught by our accomplished artist/teachers. Hand building, glazing, firing, and exposure to the wheel will be covered and experienced.

Team Building
One of the most challenging elements that delay organizations from accomplishing goals is team work. Team work is vital for an organization to survive. With organizations progressively growing more dependent on prestigious teams for virtually everything, building teamwork has become a major business strategy and getting teams to work an absolute necessity.

The Team Building Pottery Workshops are designed specifically to strengthen teams in a creative environment. Learning about pottery and each other, while utilizing hidden sense, will take place in a beautiful setting with highly qualified instructors. Participants discover personality difference and similarities, build team trust while having fun and learning a new skill. Worksh9op can be conducted at a location of your choice [e.g., our studio, your office or a hotel].

Offered in a full day, half day or customized to your requirements:
- Training in pottery: hand building and potter's wheel
- Creating a pottery/clay project
- Using the pottery experience to achieve corporate team goals.
- Assessing team members' strengthens areas for growth
- Learning how behavioral styles affect team performances
- Understanding the components of a successful team
- Exploring quality of team leadership effectiveness
- Evaluating team performance

Price:
- 1 day program $3,400
- 1 ¨ö day program $5,400
- 2 day program $ 6,500

Fee includes: Team building professional, pottery instructors, IM Pottery's facility, pottery and printed materials.

Program can be conducted at your facility and can be customized to address your specific team building needs; additional fees may be required.

Basic Pottery Exercise Option
This program was designed to accommodate pottery team activities where the time or budget available is limited. It will include:

- Introductory to pottery and its qualities physically, mentally, and spiritually
- Hands-on exercise including "Closed eyes hand building activity." Each participant will end up making something beautiful
- "Getting to know each other" exercise while working with clay
- Potter's wheel demonstration and hands-on to those who are interested
- All hand built items made by participants will be fired with the color chosen by each individual [4-5 glaze color options will be given]. The glazed artwork will be picked up approx. two weeks later.

Price:
- $350 base price if conducted at IM Pottery's - 10 participants max.
- $630 base price if conducted at IM Pottery's - Over 10 participants
- $920 base price if conducted at IM Pottery's - Up to 30 participants
- Additional $18 per hour per person
- Firing and glazing fees per item kept [optional] - $12 per item
- Catering cost is extra
- If remote location more than 20 miles - additional fee.

Program can be conducted at your facility and can be customized to address your specific team building needs [e.g., "getting to know each other"]

Open Studio
Instructor: Steve Jaskowak is the main supervisor for Open Studio

Open studio allows students and artists to work on their own projects and expand their skills with guidance from the supervising instructor.

The open studio will be monitored at all times, however this is not instructional course. We will provide you with the proper machinery, [wheels, slab roller, extruder, glazes and firings to create your ceramic art, etc.]

Open Studio time available will be posted, so you can decipher when you'd like to come in. You may make an appointment and we will reserve you a slot. To qualify for open studio, basic pottery skill level is required.

Open Studio Costs:
- $10 per hour - $96 for 10 hours' - $180 for 20 hours' - $340 per 40 hours' Note: Studio time to be used within 6 months from time of purchase.

Private Lessons
Steve Jaskowak is the private lesson instructor.

$50 per hour per person
$75 per hour for 2 people

If you complete 4 hours you get 10 open studio hours for free.

Long-term membership is possible - you will need to discuss this with the director.

Work-Study
We offer an exchange of working around the studio for instruction and/or studio time. Possible participants must meet certain criteria with director's approval.
